Designer Events

Mount Hope Plantation House is a historic property that may be the oldest surviving private residence in the State of Louisiana. The plantation survived the Civil War and managed to avoid extensive rebuilding.

Private Parties are available Monday-Sunday between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm: Applies to meetings, luncheons, teas, and showers. 2-3 hours can be reserved.

Private Parties are also available for 3 hours after 1:00 pm.

Portraits

The natural beauty of the plantation home and grounds can be utilized for portraits. We recommend 2 hours. The fee is waived if a wedding/reception is booked at Mount Hope Plantation House.

Cake Service

The cake service is a recommended service for cake cutting and serving. Service includes silver cake stand, plates, napkins, silverware, and toasting glasses during the event. The fee is waived for Weddings and Receptions.

Security

This service is required for all night events and large day events. The fee is waived for wedding receptions.

Catering

Mount Hope has full catering and beverage packages. Please refer to the private party packages.

ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES AVAILABLE TO RESERVE FOR EVENTS:

Honey House

This classic cottage style house located on the historic Mount Hope Plantation property is available for intimate events. It is perfect for teas, luncheons, and showers. This location is wonderful for 25 guests. You do not have to reserve the main house for an event to reserve an event at the cottage house.

Highland Porch

Our sister location is the “perfect pair” to your bridal luncheons, teas, showers, rehearsal dinners and wedding events. Located off Historic Highland Road approximately one mile from Mount Hope Plantation it serves as a wonderful compliment to your functions. This beautiful southern style house holds 30-100 people.

Brunch

  • Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, baked honey ham, cheese grits, buttermilk biscuits, desserts served with iced tea and fruit juice.
  • Mimosas / coffee

Lunch

  • Soup: porch potato or crab & brie
  • Salad: garden or chantilly
  • Garden: fresh fruit, gourmet cheeses, chicken salad, and tossed garden salad
  • Highland chicken & lemon butter fish: baked chicken with a cream sauce and baked fish in a lemon butter sauce served with garden salad, vegetable, bread and iced tea
  • Dessert du jour / assorted desserts

Tea

  • Three tea sandwiches: chicken salad, honey & turkey, cucumber & apricot fresh scones w/ berries, petite desserts, tea
  • Add champagne

Party

  • Chicken salad w/ rounds, honey turkey sandwiches, blackberry and feta dip, spinach divine, petite desserts, served with plantation punch or iced tea
  • Add champagne

Menus are quoted as a sideboard buffet.

All culinary displays and tables are trimmed with led candles, seasonal fruit, vegetables, rose petals and greenery to match the décor. The cuisine is accented with beautiful antique tables and furnishing. Our cuisine and décor is the full experience including silver chafing dishes, trays, stands, tiers, and heirloom serving pieces.
